Morgan Johnstonbaugh

PhD Candidate in Sociology

I'm a PhD candidate in sociology at the University of Arizona with 8+ years of extensive experience using mixed methods to develop informed insights about human behaviors. My research focuses on digital spaces, asking how do people use technology to achieve their goals (broadly defined) and how do social inequalities impact their experiences?

I am passionate about understanding the opportunities and constraints that technological innovations afford to diverse populations and using research insights to improve their experiences. I excel when tackling complex research questions from start to finish in environments that offer independent and collaborative work opportunities.

My work has been published in Gender & Society, Socius, Mobilization, Journal of Women, Politics & Policy, and Journal of Youth Studies and covered by news outlets including The Huffington Post.
